"The Von Lintel Gallery is currently showing the new works of photographer Roland Fischer. The exhibition will remain open to the public until 8 October.
Born in 1958, Fischer is recognised as a key figure in contemporary German photography. Photo Technik International named him as one of the top ten German photographers. His work has featured in several national and international shows, including a retrospective in 2003 at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich and, more recently, another at the Museuo DA2 in Slamanca in 2011. The artist currently lives and works in Munich and Beijing.
The exhibit unveils his most recent works in large format. They represent modern building façades in areas all around the world, such as Munich, Melbourne and Mexico. In effect, built–up environments are an important feature of Fischer’s work. The oversimplification captured underlines the repetitive and regular character of the social and political universes embodied in such buildings."
